A Guide to scripting on the net

The Acme Technologies web site can be found on the Internet at www.AcmeTech.com. Updates to the Script Widgets as well as information about other Acme Technologies products, including Finger Toys (a scriptable Mac Finger server) and Message Window, can be found here.

Whether you're a beginner, a 'tweener or an advanced scripter, there are a wide variety of sites on the 'net to help you hone your skills.

Resources for Scripting

The best mailing list for discussions of AppleScript and scriptable products is the MACSRPT list. To subscribe to this list, or learn more about it, visit their home page.

Fred Terry keeps the MACSCRPT list running smoothly, and also donates a lot of time to maintaining an archive full of Scripting Additions, demos of scriptable applications, scripting documentation, and back issues of the MACSCRPT list digests at ftp.scriptweb.com. You'll always find the latest Acme Script Widgets there.

ScriptWeb

For the definitive collection of information and links related to Macintosh scripting, point your browser at ScriptWeb. Martin Fenner and Scott Lawton of PreFab Software have done an outstanding job creating this site. They have used a hierarchy of turn-down arrows (much like the Finder list views) to cleanly arrange their collection of resources.

Adobe Acrobat

Some of the documentation for Acme Script Widgets is distributed in Adobe Acrobat .pdf format. The Acrobat reader is available for download at http://www.adobe.com/Acrobat/Acrobat0.html, and should be available on Compuserve in one of the Adobe forums.
